Better SSE/gRPC/Websocket event toggling

Dear YAAK Team,

First of all, I’d like to say that I really enjoy using YAAK. In particular, the HTTP SSE testing view is very well designed. I like the split layout on the right side: the upper pane shows the list of received SSE chunks, and the lower pane displays the details of the selected chunk. This design makes SSE debugging much clearer and more intuitive.

While using this feature extensively, I’ve noticed a couple of UX issues that slightly affect the browsing experience when dealing with a large number of SSE chunks.

First, when there are many chunks, browsing them one by one currently requires a lot of mouse clicking. It would be very helpful if, after selecting a chunk in the list, I could use the Up / Down arrow keys to move between chunks and have the detail panel update accordingly. This kind of keyboard navigation would make reviewing long SSE streams much more efficient.

Second, when browsing chunks quickly with the mouse, it’s easy to accidentally click the same chunk twice. The second click causes the detail panel below to collapse. Once the panel collapses, the overall height of the list changes, which shifts the visual position of the chunks. As a result, the chunk under my mouse cursor is no longer the one I intended to view, and continuing to click can quickly lead to a confusing or “lost” browsing order. Keeping the detail panel stable, or avoiding collapse on repeated clicks of the same item, could help prevent this issue.

I hope this feedback is helpful. Overall, YAAK is a great tool, and these small improvements could make the SSE debugging experience even smoother.

Thank you for your time and for building such a useful product.

Best regards

Thanks for the great feedback!

The latest beta actually has arrow-key navigation, if you want to give that a try.

Going to update this post title to focus on the toggling of events. It’s also been bugging me too, so this is a good motivator to fix it.

Great optimization! Here's a small issue I’ve found: when click on an item in the list using the mouse, the list jitters a bit.
