Right click on mac automatically closes

When trying to right click an item (e.g Folder / Request item) the dropdown menu opens for a split second and then automatically closes. On folders, seems to open correctly only when right-clicking the dropdown icon.
Currently using a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro, right clicking using a touchpad with Control + click.
