High CPU usage while doing nothing

Hi,

There is a performance issue that I must bring to attention: while doing nothing, just being started (and even after successfully having searched for an update), the CPU is constantly used - more than 100% (meaning one core is 100% and there is some spillover to another).

Could it be this is because of the beta release actively collects some statistics ?
