App not starting with blank UI on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS

I'm running into an issue on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS

The app launches, but there's no UI, just a blank window.

it looks like it is a Tauri issue

I set up a test Tauri app and hit the same problem—same error, blank screen. The error message:

KMS: DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB failed: Permission denied

But launching it with:

WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 cargo tauri dev

seems to fix it on the test app.

forgot to mention I was able to get Yaak running using

env WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 ./yaak_XXX.AppImage
