This is quite important as it brings more value for my productivity!
And limit max tabs as well but disable by default. I found myself always be great with certain of tabs as maximum (from 5-10 for example) instead of having too many tabs but I don’t need to use them. I would also want to ask for pinning tabs feature if possible.

For me tabs in postman is a disadvantage not a an advantage, that’s the main reason i love yaak.

I think it's important to have multiple tabs, because it allows you to have multiple requests and switch between them faster. When I’m testing my API I want to have the frequently used request closer, it enhance my productivity. Anyway that’s my pov and I respect your opinion.

I agree, everyone has different perspectives and use cases. In my example with Postman, I often end up with a cluster of open/unsaved tabs because I switch between different requests, usually by clicking on items in the collection list or by using the search feature.
With Yaak, I simply use Ctrl+K to search, and that's it. All my requests are always saved and there's no repeated clutter of open tabs.
But yeah, as you said, everyone has different needs. I just wanted to share my perspective, because that's the main feature I really like about this app.

Currently thinking of ways that tabs can be used and not affect people who don’t like them.
For example, the single vs double click is a fairly standard thing now. Only double clicking would open the request in a new tab
There are also other strategies like only being able to do it from the right click menu (maybe more akin to “pinning”)
Note, that I don’t like tabs most of the time, but recently i’ve been switching between a handful of requests, where tabs would be useful.

You can always add it as an optional toggle so users who like the current UX can keep it

Horizontal tabs are optional.
The default setting is vertical, as it is now.
Personally, I don't like horizontal tabs.

Tabs have become a problem in the modern interned. I moved from traditional web browsers (e.g., Chrome) to the likes of Arc and Zen and I loved the way they get rid of the traditional tabs and bookmarks in favor of a lateral panel with all pages.
In a similar way, I believe Yaak’s current lateral panel coupled with the request history offers a cleaner way to visualize requests, while the Ctrl+Tab shortcut offers a quick way to switch between them. No need for traditional tabs IMHO.

It is the main reason I cannot dump postman. I work with numerous requests and need to keep a handful of them open at the same time. It is a must have feature

Tab was the reason I left postman in the past, and the reason I left insomnia to join Yaak.
If we are going to have tabs, at least allow the users to completely disable the feature.

hi
Implementing a Tabbed Interface would be a significant productivity boost for most users.
In my workflow, I frequently need to switch between multiple requests simultaneously to compare results or follow a sequence of API calls.
This feature would allow for a much smoother experience, as it prevents losing the current request context when navigating to another endpoint.
This is quite important as it brings more value for my productivity!
